Dave Cooley ( keyboards) and Matt Sims (Vocals and bass) lend some very funky grooves to turntable technology. Cooley and Sims both co-wrote and produced the new Citizen King effort. All you need to know is this album is slick, sharp, sexy, and yes it will make you wanna move your ass! If you have heard the single "Better Days (and the Bottom Drops out)," or seen the video on MTV, then you know it just makes you want to shake it. That’s only the beginning. Comparisons to Beck have been thrown around; there are worse things you could say. While you can definitely fine some common ground between Citizen King and the great Mr. Hannson, CK is not trying to be Beck. It’s all about the groove. Song like ‘Billhilly’ and ‘Jalopy Style’ smack of a countrified white trash style, and bring to mind visions of a funky back yard BBQ with Jethro and Ellie May.
