Artist: LIMP BIZKIT Title: Significant Other -Reviewed by Lina Reyes The new Limp Bizkit CD comes on heavy, with the bands signature hybrid of hard rock, hip hop, and punk. Bizkit themselves describe the album best in their own song Just Like This- it is a "lyrical rampage" This album should ease the minds of those hardcore metal lovers who doubt anything smacking of a hip hop vibe could truly rock. Its simply good old fashioned metal with a dash of rap for flavor. The first single off the new CD Nookie delivers a powerful punch and a promise of what to expect from the Bizkit. The brutal guitar riffs on songs like Im Broke hit you like a two ton truck. Just Like This is a perfect fusion of funk and metal. Limp Bizkit is joined by Korns Jonathan Davis and Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots in Nobody Likes You. The tune is intense, sexy, burning and crunchy all at the same time. This album explores the downside of making it big, and front man Durst is proud of the fact that he used the pain inflicted on him by others to create this album. Limp Bizkit explores some new ground while remaining lyrically fierce and melodically sound. |
