With the first of two sold out
shows at the Long Beach Arena, KoRn brought its first annual
PoP SuX tour to rabid fans in southern California. It has been
about a two year wait since the last time KoRn toured so rabid
KoRn fans fans came in the masses to these two LA area shows.

Playing a variety of new school
hits and old school forgotten tunes, KoRn proved that they are
here to stay. Fans went crazy for the entire set , but the highlight
of the night was easily in the midst of their hour long set,
when they played "Blind", an old school anthem from
their first album. Picture a sea of 10,000 "KoRn Kids"
all simultaneously jumping and moshing like crazy to the SCREAMs
of lead singer Jonathan Davis' cry "ARE YOU READY?!?!?!?!?"
Their Bad ass cover of the Metallica
classic "One" made it clear that KoRn are the Metallica
for our generation. At the end the night, crowd was left speechless.
They may be mainstream, but KoRn deserve respect and credibility
for the genre they created and the generation they defined with
their music.

| Openers Trust Company and Disturbed
were nothing more than generic bands, but they served as a good
example of why KoRn called their third album "Follow the
Leader." Disturbed's mix of spooky wannabe metal and melodic
rock sounded more like a scarier version of Creed, than Metallica,
which is sad. |

| Trust company might as well be called
baby Papa Roach, judging from their sound, they brought nothing
at all new to the table but generic sophomoric songs. Yet, suffering
through the first two bands, and seeing how amazing KoRn was made
it worth it. |
