Slicing together twelve songs worthy of any hardcore fan's collection, Clevland's Chimaira makes an impressive step onto the heavy metal stage. Their sophomore album, "The Impossibility of Reason", showcases a fury that is definately legit. "Pure Hatred" and "Cleansation" overflow with a power comparable to Pantera, while "Down Again" opens with a beautifully old school guitar solo/piano trio, courtesy of Chris Spicuzza, Matt DeVries, and Rob Arnold. On the whole, "The Impossibility of Reason" is decisively metal, and a great pick-up for any fan of the hardcore brand.
