Big Bad Voodoo Daddy March 17th (Saint Patty’s Day) Canyon Club in Agura Hills |
| Like a trip in the time machine back to when the cocktail was king, men knew how to treat a lady, and bands knew how to get a crowd really swinging. BBVD packed this club. The Canyon has all the charming atmosphere of the smoky old jazz super clubs of days gone by with out the actual smoke. Just like days of old the joint was hopping. The drinks were flowing free, the crowd was dressed to the nines and ready to move to the music. | ![]() |

When the band played you could catch a glimpse of vintage skirts spinning in the air just to halt in the captured embrace of the couple’s dip. The floor was filled with fans eager to hear this powerhouse band. BBVD was looking slick wearing vintage fedora hats, vintage suits and black-and-white spectator shoes. The band’s look was only outmatched by their sound and the heavily commanding charisma of its member’s. |
| This band is fun, energetic, they know how to work a stage and capture an audience. Vocalist Scotty Morris, is smooth and captivating in his vocal delivery. While the packed floor was swaying to the group’s knockout sounds at either side there were girls with their guys showing off their perfected swing moves to the music of the band that captures that sound best. | ![]() |

Now this is the way to spend your favorite drinking holiday (Saint Patty himself would be proud). Talk about a fun party band! Since that swing rage in the 90’s BBVD have been on the top of the genre owning their brand of modern jazzed up retro-swing. Even now they have a loyal following, this is due to their outstanding musicianship as well as their fresh approach on an old sound. |
| BBVD was in rare form and had the room fully swinging to each and ever tune. This was a phenomenal performance, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy were everything any crowd could have expected of them. The band played a pretty long set, but did leave the audience wanting more. Isn’t that really the point though? I know many of the people there will keep coming back whenever the band does. I’m sure I’ll see you there. | |
