CD Title: Oracle

Artims Records

By Adam Bowman

It's been a year of change since Kittie first beat the hell out of me. Now a trio after the departure of guitarist/backing vocalist Fallon Bowman, the Canadian women are back to brutalize yet again with Oracle.

Featuring hella cool guitar riffs like "What I Always Wanted" and "Severed", Morgan Lander shows that her and her BC Rich are more than capable of carrying the load in round two. Sister Mercedes Lander once again makes me wish I had never picked up a pair of drumsticks, as one listen through the album just lets the ol' Midget realize that no matter how good you think you are, there will always be a Lander better than you.

While their rendition of Pink Floyd's "Run Like Hell" and the obligatory-goth-conclusion "Pink Lemonade" provide moments of 'cool', Kittie's second album is for the hardcore metal fan. Newbies...need not apply.
