Box Car Racer CD Review CD Title: Box Car Racer Record Label: MCA Records By Adam Bowman Featuring more mature riffs and a more vast musical landscape, Box Car Racer is Blink-182, only if Blink took "Adam's Song" and ran with it. Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker pull out all the same tricks that they're known for in Blink, but the darker music give this album a different spin. That's not to say that the change here is a major one. "I Feel So," "Tiny Voices," as well as "And I" all use the same Blink formula: hook-laden vocals mixed with a drum-heavy bridge to break the monotony. DeLonge throws his major curve when he brings out the acoustic guitars for "There Is," a song that although pop, Blink-182 probably wouldn't touch for another few albums, at least. If you're a Blink fan who's older than 15, you will definitely like Box Car Racer. Everyone under may not care for it at all. |
