Psycho House plays host to these Dark video "Fiends" Interview by Alex Destefano On Monday March 4th, on the Universal Studios Backlot, Coal Chamber shot the video for 'Fiend,' the newest single on their 3rd album, 'Dark Days,' which is due out in stores on May 7th. A very lucky group of less than 25 die hard fans got the chance to be in the video , as extras in a makeshift mosh pit.

The new video was shot at the infamous set that held the original 'Munsters' TV house, as well as the 'Psycho' house. It is based on the Day of the Dead, and features many ghouls and skeletons. The video will be released a few weeks before the release date of dark days, and will most likely be exclusively aired on MTV2, and MTVX. During his time off from the filming of the video, and partying non-stop, I got to have a few short words with Dez, about the band, the new album and coal chamber's tour with Drowning Pool. "This new album is sick. It's the heaviest album we've ever done, I think you guys are all gonna enjoy it," he said, standing next to a group of fans, waiting in line for pictures and autographs. After chatting with the fans, and talking with his crew, Dez told me that he is eager to get on the road. Coal Chamber are currently in the middle of their tour with friends Drowning Pool, and Ill Nino. They are co-headlining the Jagermeister Music tour, and will make their LA stop April 11 at the Palace in Hollywood. "We love it in LA, and that's why we've kept Halloween night this year open, to play a show at the Palace, that we're gonna record a live album from," Dez revealed. After a few more scenes from the video, and a rather long lunch break, I got a final word from Dez, who was kind and friendly. "This new video is gonna be just awesome. It's got this whole Day of the Dead theme, which is kinda cool. The album comes out on May 7th, so the video should hit MTV2 a few weeks before then. And for now we're just looking forward to going out on the road again and playing shows. After the Jagermeister Tour, we're gonna head out on our own headlining tour," he said standing next to his new beautiful girlfriend Anastasia. As for the rest of the band, Dez says they are just as eager to get out on the road again. With the addition of Nadjia on bass, who replaced Rayna (who left the band permanently to care for her child), the band is back and heavier than ever, as can be heard on their new single, 'Fiend.' The single is scheduled to hit the airwaves roughly a few weeks before the release of the new album, 'Dark Days,' May 7th. For the latest news, and tourdates, visit www.coalchamber.com. |
